Elaine Sattler was the wife of Massapequa Park Church of the Nazarene member Bill Sattler, who served as the church’s Assistant Treasurer and lead of the ‘Program of Progress,’ which was the church’s fundraising campaign over 30 years ago. When Elaine had passed away, Bill set up the scholarship fund in 1991 in her honor.

Bill was a faithful visionary, and believed that the scholarship would be used to support students, and dreamt that one day the scholarship could even be used to support a student who felt called to be a minister to the Lord! The Elaine Sattler Scholarship has been supporting our church’s students as they pursue a college education wherever the Lord is leading them.

The Award is $1000 per awardee, $500 for each the Fall and Spring Semesters. Students who 1) will be attending college in the fall, 2) are either attending Massapequa Park Church of the Nazarene OR reside in Massapequa/Massapequa Park, and 3) currently hold at least a 2.0 GPA are eligible to apply. Students will need to complete a written application and provide a letter confirming enrollment from their university’s bursar department.
